Porcelain Crowns, also known as “caps”, are tooth-shaped coverings placed over teeth that have been decayed or damaged. They are generally used when the damage or decay is so extensive that the tooth cannot adequately support other filling techniques. We place crowns to save the rest of the natural tooth. Crowns cover the entire tooth and have a very natural look and fit the person’s bite nicely.
Although they can greatly improve the appearance of a tooth, crowns are more than just cosmetic devices. Crowns are one of the most common dental procedures performed today and with proper care, their benefits can last a lifetime!
